What's wrong with hotmail, and what should we use instead?

I have 2 hot mail and 2 gmail accounts..the hotmail came with my DSL so its my main account for just about everything.

hotmail is just kinda...shitty in my experience...
gmail is by far the superior thing, unless you have the fear of the googles.

It's weird, because I've had all sorts of issues with my regular G-mail account, but my school G-mail account works fine.

At any rate, I've never had issues with Hotmail.
