Issue 443: The Visualization of Excelsior

I think Efrem turned off the visualization, but that setting was stored in volatile memory. So when the ship loses power, the computer loses power too, clearing all settings. Maybe Kasey plugs in the computer's debug console two comics back, allowing her to reboot and bring up the visualization.

they still have volatile memory in the future? seems like it'd be easier to use ssds.....(which are, in todays world, almost as fast as ram, and nonvolatile...)

Ok, maybe when she plugged it in, the settings got initialized as part of the power-on.

Or an entirely different system could be used...

And maybe Reona wasn't interested in seeing a blue girl with no clothes? And she definitely didn't want Efrem to hang around with that holographic pinup? And Grontar is probably not interested in girls with only two arms, so he wouldn't care.

But I'd go with her being the psychics' dirty little secret. Have we seen any female psychics, or is it an all boys club? I wonder what the visualization would look like if womyn designed ships! (Ships that work, not ships that blow up the planet when you try to take off!)

actually, now that i think about it, the current visualization could be entirely based of the current captain....
note, she has reona's hair tusk things... it could be that the ship is designed to take the most important female, and change some details, so that the current captain will always want to protect the ship.

I think that might be stretching things. I think she's always had that hair style from when she was first created. I mean it's certainly a possibility but my gut reaction to that is a "No".
