naked ship girl: she's (mostly) naked, a ship, and female (shaped)
named, excelsior (probably).

i mahself feel that she is likely modeled after a girl zap new way back in the day. possibly fell in love with. quite like dorable (the ship) in heinleins time enough to love.

I don't think Zap made Excelsior. It's possible but I don't think that's quite how she came to be... I know in that one frame of that flashback when Zap was loosing his mind or whatever we saw Zap with Excelsior but that doesn't necessarily mean he created her. I mean I could be totally wrong, but Excelsior somehow seems like an older ship. Not that I think she's been with the resistance long... we don't even know how she came to be in the resistance in the first place. Was she brought in when Efrem joined? If that's the case then does that mean Zap gave Excelsior to Efrem? If Zap was the one who made Excelsior then all this choosing a captain thing was something planned out by pre-memory wipe Zap. Although even if he didn't create Excelsior he could have set this up by talking to her I think... There are a lot of mysteries about that ship.

Not only that, but the vizualation was turned off, for how long?

what i don't get is why she didn't tell robot to turn it on.

When Kasey first enters that room she remarks that the last one to enter was probably Efrem, so he was possibly the one who turned it off. Maybe on Zap's orders. I've seen nothing from the rest of the crew to indicate whether or not they know about the visualization mode at all. In fact nothing much has ever been said about Excelsior so far as I remember.
